Our cavitation testing service is designed to determine the minimum gas charge required for the expected operating conditions of your shocks. In most cases, minimizing the shock's gas pressure leads to improved vehicle performance and relegates the shock to its damping duties while minimizing its effects on spring rates.
There are no standard test specs for this service as the test specifications will be custom. We will need to know your expectations of the following:
- Max operating shock velocities
- Max operating shock temperatures
- Max possible shock compression settings
Using this information we will develop a unique test sequence to determine what minimum gas charge would be required to keep your shocks operating properly without cavitation. This will be the charge pressure that you will not want to operate below, but may operate anywhere above.
